“We shall have music
We shall have rhyme
We shall have each other
One minute after the end of time
Then we’ll add up the pleasure
And treasure the sums
Caring is sharing
A cake and the crumbs
How lucky we are to be me and you
And forever is meant for so very few” Michael Jackson - “We’ve Got Forever”
Today, not only have we lost an angel to heaven, but we have also lost a legend to the music industry. Loved by many, Michael Jackson not only made music and danced his way into our hearts, but he inspired us. Michael was known as the King of Pop, and he deserved that title. From songs such as ‘Billie Jean’, ‘Smooth Criminal’, ‘Beat It’, and ‘Thriller’, those dances and songs have become iconic today. Michael Jackson singlehandedly changed not only the face of pop music, but music in general. He may be gone physically, but his spirit and legacy will live on in our hearts forever. Rest in peace, Michael Jackson. You were and always will be the King of Pop.
“My real goal is to fulfill God’s purpose. I didn’t choose to sing or dance. But that’s my role and I want to do it better than anyone else.” - Michael Jackson
Demi Lovato kicked off her highly anticipated, first headlining tour last night, in Hartford, CT to a sold out crowd of screaming fans. Demi (dressed in a green t shirt, white vest, ripped black pants and killer sparkly heels) commanded the stage as if she had been doing it for years. It almost makes you forget that the teen sensation is only sixteen years old!
Rising from a platform in the center of the stage, Demi opened the show with her hit single, ‘La La Land.’ It was no surprise that when she rose, the crowd when ballistic. The crowd, which ranged from very young kids, to teenagers, to even adults, sang along as if they each had their own microphone. Demi went on to perform fan favorites such as ‘Behind Enemy Lines,’ ‘Party,’ ‘Until You’re Mine,’ ‘Don’t Forget,’ and her debut single, ‘Get Back.’
Demi took a breather, half way through her set to dedicate one of her favorite songs, ‘(You Make Me Feel) Like A Natural Woman,’ on the piano, to her biggest inspiration; her mother, who was also at the show. Think that this sixteen year old wouldn’t be able pull off the Aretha Franklin classic? Well, think again! Demi confidently belted out the soulful anthem without a sweat, all while playing the piano herself.
The best part of the show was getting to hear tracks from her upcoming album, “Here We Go Again,” which will be released on July 21st. From what I heard, Lovato’s sophomore album is even hotter than her first one! Demi performed the album’s first single, of the same name, for the first time in the states, and surprisingly enough, even though the track was released less than a week ago, almost every fan was singing along with her! Heavy pop-rock tracks like the break up anthem, ‘U Got Nothin’ On Me,’ and ‘Remember December’ show a darker and edgier side of the singer. And, we loved it! She also performed a new track called ‘So Dynamite’ and “Sonny With A Chance’s” theme song, ‘So Far, So Great.’
What’s the verdict? Words don’t do justice to the show that Demi Lovato puts on for her fans. Don’t confuse this petite rocker with any of the other bubble gum pop stars she’s been compared to. With her elegance, confident swagger, and powerful voice, this teen idol is by far the one of, if not the most talented artist that has emerged from the Disney Channel. Demi brings back an old sense of confident, rocker sex appeal that hasn’t been done since Pat Benetar and Joan Jett were topping the charts years ago. This is a show that you definitely don’t want to miss this summer!
Dean-Kelly was up close and personal at the free Irving Plaza concert where the Jonas Brothers’ performed for their fans. JB sang songs from their new album which came out today as well as some oldies but goodies such as ‘Year 3000′. Hundreds of fans swarmed outside of the venue just waiting to catch a glimpse of the trio. The devoted fans in the venue sang along to every single word of their old and new songs.
DK was so excited to be able to interact with adoring fans and watch the concert from the upstairs balcony. If this concert tells us one thing about the group’s upcoming summer concert tour: IT’S GOING TO BE HOT!
V Factory recently took the time to visit patients and their families at Boston’s Children’s Hospital. The hot fivesome hung, wearing purple bracelets, support of Generation Cures, an initiative designed to encourage kids to give back, out with the kids, signed autographs and even performed their hit single, ‘Love Struck.’
For more information about the cause, you can visit the official site HERE.
V Factory recently stopped by “Popstar” magazine for a photoshoot and interview. The guys opened up about their summer plans and what’s coming up for them.
I recently caught up with 26 year old director, Scott Speer. Scott, who’s worked with some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Ashley TIsdale, Jordin Sparks, Aly & AJ, David Archuleta, The Veronicas and even Paula Abdul. Recently, he directed the music video for V Factory’s debut single, ‘Love Struck’ and even Ashley TIsdale’s music video for ‘It’s Alright, It’s OK.’
We talked about him working with “rumored girlfriend”, Ashley Tisdale, a few years ago and working with her again now, on her newest single. Scott also opened up about who he’d like to work with, including the one and only, Britney Spears. Check out the interview above, or by clicking HERE.
Looks like the Jonas Brothers still have it! Fans of the musical trio flocked to “Good Morning America’s” official website on Thursday morning and snagged up all of the free tickets to the guys show, schedeuled for June 12th, in Central Park. The free tickets were reportedly gone in less than 10 minutes. (That’s pretty good timing, JB fans!) The performance in Central Park takes place just a few days before the release of their latest album, “Lines, Vines And Trying Times.”(Which is due on June 16th.) The album will surely be another “number one” for the trio to add to their growing collection.
P.S. We went through all of the awesome questions you submitted for our upcoming interview with the guys. It was tough narrowing it down, but I think we have a great selection to bring along with us!
Ashley Tisdale looked casual, yet stunning last night at the Comet Awards in Germany. (The Comet Awards, sponsored by “Viva,” is one of the biggest music award ceremonies in Germany.) Miss Tisdale is never one to disappoint on the red carpet!
Ashley is currently overseas doing promotion for her upcoming album, “Guilty Pleasure,” which will be released worldwide on June 16th. The US date for Ashley’s album has moved to July 28th. (Don’t forget to pre-order your copy of the “Deluxe Edition” HERE.)
UPDATE: Check out Ashley’s performance during the show. The crowd was loving it!
The moment you’ve all been waiting for is finally here! My good friends, V Factory, have just released the highly anticipated video for their debut single, ‘Love Struck.’
Forget the cliche music videos of boybands past! Asher, Wesley, Nicky, Nathaniel and Jared push the envelope and deliver a sexy music video that fits their addictive, debut single perfectly.
The video, directed by Scott Speer, proves that these guys aren’t just another manufactured pop group. VP of A&R at Warner Bros. Records, Tommy Page, who assembled the group, definitely has an eye for talent. They can sing, they can dance, sing live and they’re not too bad to look at. (Kidding! Admit it….They’re studs!) V Factory is definitely whole package and is well on their way to being the new faces of today’s edgier pop music.
