She did it again! After an AMAZING performance singing The National Anthem at The Super Bowl over the weekend, Kelly Clarkson has another reason to celebrate. The singer’s latest single “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” jumped to #1 on The Billboard Hot 100 songs chart.
“Stronger” is the second official single from her fifth studio album, Stronger, and is Kelly’s third chart topper ever. (“A Moment Like This” and “My Life Would Suck Without You” both topped the charts.) The song also spends a second week at #1 on the Digital Song chart.
Her new social network might not be ready just yet, but Lady Gaga’s going to be connecting with her fans on tour very soon! The “Born This Way” singer had been teasing fans last week about some of the details her upcoming tour, and she wasn’t kidding.
On Monday, Gaga gave her fans a sneak peek of the tour’s stage via Twitter. The black and white sketch features a medieval castle with a central area in a runway that will hold some of the audience, called the “Monster’s Pit.” This general admission zone will be for die-hard Little Monsters who “waited all night” and “dressed to ‘Ball’,” Gaga tweeted. (We’re guessing that “dressed to ball” involves some hair dye, a fake mole, and a lot of glitter.)
And, in regular Gaga fashion, there’s more! “Every night Haus of Gaga will choose fans from The Monster Pit to come back stage + meet me! These tickets are NOT more expensive,” Gaga tweeted. Always a giver that Gaga!
Gaga’s international tour kicks off on April 27th in Seoul, South Korea. The first 11 of 110 stops have now been announced. Check them out!

There’s two new seats available next to Simon Cowel and LA Ried on The X Factor (US) now that Paula Abdul and Nicole Scherzinger weren’t asked to return for the second season of the show, but it looks like those seats won’t be empty for too long! Artists like Cheryl Cole and Katy Perry have been rumored to be added to the show, and now we can add two more divas to the rumored list. According to this week’s Sunday World, rumor has it that Britney Spears and Mariah Carey may join the judging panel on the North American version of the show. The article also says says that they’ll each be given $30 million to participate on the show.
“Sources close to Britney yesterday confirmed that Britney has a relatively free calendar this year and would be free to talk.” One member of her inner cirlce declared, ”The timing is perfect. Brit would love to connect with fans on a weekly basis and loves working on TV after several guest appearances on the sitcom ”How I Met Your Mother’.”
We think that it would be perfect for both of them to be on the show! Mariah just gave birth to her two twins, and is getting her new album ready. And, Britney just finished her Femme Fatale Tour. They’ve both been in the music industry for years, and are still relevant. (No offense Paul and Nicole!)
Would you love to see Britney and Mariah on The X Factor (US)?
UPDATE: According to Rap-Up, Simon Cowell confirmed that Mariah Carey will not participate on the show.
“No, she’s not on the list because I don’t think Mariah would make that commitment. I really, really don’t,” he said. “She’s just had kids. You have to work five days a week on this show and you’ve got to do all the traveling as well. Just to put it out there, she will not be on the list. I adore her, I would love her, but you can’t expect someone who’s just had two kids, who’s got a record career, to make the kind of commitment we would need on this show.”
Simon also said that Beyonce is not going to be a celebrity judge on the show.
She premiered the deluxe edition cover of her MDNA album (now on iTunes for pre-order) which features a close-up of the singer’s face behind colorful ribbed glass, and now Madonna has premiered the standard edition artwork. The cover The album’s artwork was shot by Mert and Marcus and directed by Giovanni Bianco, and features the Queen of Pop in a red dress with matching red lipstick.

It feels like it’s been so long since we’ve heard her sing! Looking gorgeous in a light pink dress and black boots, Miley Cyrus took the stage at The Ellen DeGeneres Show to perform a cover of Bob Dylan’s “You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go.” The LOL star was accompanied by one acoustic guitar for her acoustic performance, which sounded AMAZING!
“I’m so excited to be on this record, just with so many cool people — everyone I’ve dreamed of working with,” Miley told Ellenabout her inclusion on the Chimes Of Freedom – The Songs Of Bob Dylan compilation album. “And just being able to cover a Dylan tune is so awesome.”
She sure does like collaborating with other artists! Rihanna’s showed us over the past couple of years that one of her favorite things to do (besides that she loves the smell of sex in the air and repeating syllables in her songs) is collaborating with different artists. After a chart topping remix of “S&M” with Britney Spears, it looks like she’s got her eye on another pop diva for a new remix!
The “We Found Love” singer hinted that Christina Aguilera is the next artist that she’s looking to feature on a remix of “Birthday Cake.” While chatting with her fans on her Twitter page about re-releasing a full length version of the fan favorite Talk That Talk track, she said, “Would yall be mad if Birthday #CAKE became a single?”
Oh, and there’s more! ”Now here’s the trick question! #IF I put collaborator on it, who would u wanna see lick the icing off????? #CAKE” she tweeted. She then hinted at work with Christina by tweeting about one of her most successful singles. She teased, “I need somebody #DIRRRTY on my Birthday #CAKE lol”
Now before you start making jokes about Birthday cake and Christina Aguilera being used in the same sentence, (wait….did we just make one?) think about how awesome this collaboration would be. We LOVE this idea!
Get those paws up in the air, Little Monsters! Lady Gaga’s getting ready to hatch a new social network for her fans! She’s already known for using social network to interact with her fans, so it definitely makes sense that she would make her own website to interact with her fans.
As she gets closer to having 19 followers on Twitter, the postar is working with Backplane, a company she’s invested in, to launch littlemonsters.com. The website will be “a new community” for her fans to interact with each other.
Although, the website working yet, her fans are encouraged to submit their names and email addresses. There’s not much info on the website yet, but signing up on the website generates the automatic response, “Your invitation request has been received! We’re excited to share the world of LittleMonsters with you very shortly, keep an eye out for an official invite sometime soon.”
Fourteen years after topping the charts with “The Boy Is Mine,” Brandy and Monica have reunited for the their highly anticipated follow-up, “It All Belongs to Me.” A few weeks ago, the ladies tweeted some pictures from their studio session, and now we have a new song from them! The song, which was produced by Rico Love, has an old school R&B vibe, and picks up where their 1998 single left off. But, this time they’re definitely not fighting over the guy. They’re kicking his booty to the curve in the new song, which will appear on Monica’s new album, New Life, (in stores on March 6th), and Brandy’s new album (in stores sometime in the Spring as well.)
“It’s a very soulful R&B song with pop sensibilities,” Rico Love told Rap-Up.Com in a new interview. “I wanted to make sure I made it a classic R&B record, but I definitely wanted to make sure that it had enough appeal to cross over and become a Top 40 record.”
“This business is all about competition. They forgot about what is the most important, which is two talents coming together.” Brandy said. “It’s just great to come back and do something with (Monica). This is definitely a blessing.”

Smile For The Camera is a compelling memoir that follows author Kelle James’ riveting story of leaving an abusive home at the age of 16 in the 1970′s, and becoming a model in New York City. Kelle’s memoir takes readers through a powerful journey that shows her overcoming abusive relationships, homelessness and a sensational murder trial to become a successful model.
We chatted with Kelle about her memoir, and also about how she started writing. Kelle also gives advice to aspiring authors on how they can start their own writing careers.
So excited to hear about your book, Smile For The Camera. It’s about when you started working as a model, right?
Yes. It’s not even as much about that actually. It’s more about the adventure that I set on when I left home at sixteen. Modeling and doing commercials wound up being the only way to keep a roof over my head. (laughs) It became the means of my survival. So, it sets the whole story of that period of time for me. Because I left home when I was sixteen.
Do you think that the modeling industry is different today?
I kind of think that kids are very into the internet today. They’re much more savvy than at that point in time than I was. I think that it can be very important for girls to have as much information as they can, when they’re going into it.
Your book shows the highlights, but also the dark side of the modeling industry.
Right. And, I guess the dark side of life in a way.
What was it like writing your book? I imagine that it felt weird, but very refreshing and therapeutic to write about your story.
You know, for me it was a priceless experience because I started writing in a local writing class, which was down the street from where I was. It was around a woman’s living room table, and everyone would write. I would write every week, and when I started writing it, I had no idea where I was going with it. Like, this wasn’t my plan. My plan wasn’t to write a memoir. (laughs) And, I started writing it, and it was very cathartic. What it kind of made it possible to do, was to examine it. Because when I’m writing it’s kind of an intellectual exercise. Feeling it is very emotional. And, because I had to blend the two experiences, I know that it really helped me to kind put it in a place where I could deal with it better, and understand it. It was a good one for me.
When you’re writing a story about your own experiences, does it make you feel a little vulnerable? Is that a weird feeling for you?
That’s interesting. I wrote it very quickly. I finished the first draft in probably under six months. I didn’t look up a lot. I just wrote and wrote and wrote. I was thinking about revealing parts of my life to people. Then, I got an agent. The book was sold to Simon & Schuster. It kind of happened quickly. When it was about to come out, it occurred to me that people are going to know a lot about me now. But, I have found that a lot of young girls email me about the book. And, my book is in a lot of school book reports. I love hearing about how it helped them. It’s been worth it. It is an odd thing when people come up to me and say that they’ve read my book. It’s like woah! You know a lot about me. (laughs)
It must feel great to know that your story is helping and inspiring people.
Yeah, it definitely does. It’s amazing to me how young kids are when they’re reading it. Again, it just shows the maturity level of kids and young people now. They’re so much further than I was. People are doing book reports on the book at like thirteen or so. They’re such terrific young people. I’ve really enjoyed that.
There’s a lot of aspiring writers out there. What do you think is your best advice for writers that want to get published?
I really can’t stress the importance of doing the writing classes. I think that it’s not only important on the level of constructive criticism because you have to develop a thick skin in a writing class, but also the sense of community. In a way, sometimes you’re writing for your class. We had a broad spectrum in that class. Every one was writing something different and a different genre. It was really exciting for me. It helped to keep me going. So, that’s something that I would really really advise. And, the cliche advice is to write what you know.
I feel like that’s the best advice!
Pretty cliche, but it’s true! When I first started writing, I was not writing a memoir. I was writing a story about a unicorn. (laughs) And, it didn’t go over very well. Hence, the talk about the thick skin. I was actually going to stop going to the class because I was feeling so rejected by it, but yet I respected everyone’s opinions about it. And, I did an excercive about somethig epersona. It was an emotional exercise. A friend of mine, that happeend to be in the class, said you paid for it. You might as well go to the class. I said that I didn’t want to. I literally sat in my car outside of the class and wrote a few paragraphs of what turned into one of the chapters in Smile For The Camera. And, everyone loved it, and said that that was what I should write about. And, that’s where the memoir began. It goes back to writing about what you know. It’s easier to find your voice and your heart that way.
What’s the best way for your fans to keep in touch with you?
They can go to my official website. I have an email on there that they can contact me on. I also have a Twitter. I’m new to Twitter though! (laughs)
I totally just tweeted you before our interview. It’s pretty exciting! (laughs)
Awww! That’s exciting!
You’ll be an expert at Twitter before you know it!
Great! (laughs)
